Education

APOLLO5 is part of the VOCES8 Foundation, a vocal music education charity that brings the power of singing to communities around the world.

We are passionate about engaging young people through singing. We believe that the opportunity to take part in music making should be available to everyone.

The VOCES8 Foundation’s innovative and wide-reaching programmes and resources inspire singers and teachers of all ages and abilities. It’s annual programme of education work sees APOLLO5 and the foundation’s other ensemble, VOCES8 working with over 40,000 people around the world in partnership with Music Hubs, schools and communities.

APOLLO5 leads regular workshops, masterclasses, and a children's concert series at the Foundation's Centre, as well as longer projects and residency programmes. The group oversees an extensive singing project in Hackney and Tower Hamlets, working closely with schools and supporting teachers. Now in its fifth year, this project is supported by Arts Council England, The Worshipful Company of Plaisterers' Charity and the Goldsmiths' Company Charity. The education programme is also supported by the City of London.

We are hugely grateful to the many who support our educational projects. Find out more here.

The children realised that each of them had a crucial role to play in the performance and grew in confidence. The project has given me techniques and ways of warming up the children both when we are teaching them a song and also doing a listening exercise. It was really inspiring working with talented musicians and thinking about how we can incorporate these ideas into our practice.
